What Comb can do with your files

Images

JPG, PNG, HEIC, WebP, AVIF, TIFF, BMP and SVG

• Convert photos between JPG, PNG, HEIC, WebP, AVIF, TIFF and BMP, or save them as PDF. JPG is one of the starting favourites for photos.
• Resize to a maximum size for the web or email. Smaller images are never enlarged.
• Compress images to make the files smaller.
• Edit Photo to adjust light, colour and detail, or rotate.
• Crop, annotate, add a background around a screenshot, or redact part of a photo.
• Remove supported metadata from a copy before you share it.
• With several images selected, make one PDF or a collage.

Video

MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, AVI and WMV, plus GIF

Good to know. PDF compression tidies how the file is stored without lowering image quality, so some PDFs won’t get smaller. Privacy Cleanup also removes searchable text, links, forms and digital signatures from a PDF copy, so check it before you share.

My Comb: your five favourites

Each kind of file has its own honeycomb. Pick five favourite actions for Images, Videos, Audio, Documents, Archives & folders and Mixed files in Settings, then drag them into the order you like. All tools always sits in the sixth cell.

Website images is a saved custom action. It sits in the honeycomb like any other favourite.

Custom actions for jobs you repeat

Save a few steps as one action and add it to My Comb. Image actions can resize, convert, compress and remove supported metadata. Document actions can convert, compress and remove metadata. Audio and video actions convert.

Check every copy before you save

Comb prepares your new files first and shows each one with its name, format and size. Tick the ones you want, choose a folder and save. Discard the rest and they’re never saved.

Pick a colour

Honey is the default. Sage, Ocean, Lilac, Rose and Graphite are in Settings, with quiet accents or tonal cells. Light and dark follow your Mac, and Reduce Motion is respected. Try the colours here; they change this page only.

The app icon stays the same whichever colour you choose.
